Mrs.Sarah Ellen Norris;aged 79 years;died last night;October 26;1934 at 8:20 o’clock at her home in Maple Creek;near Fox stop. She suffered a stroke several years ago and had been declining in health since. She was born September 15;1855. On her birthday this past September 15 she and her husband observed their 60th wedding anniversary. Mr.Norris is aged 87 years and since their marriage sixty years ago the couple had resided in the Maple Creek section. For a number of years they have made their home at the log cabin near Fox Stop;in which Mr.Norris’parents formerly lived. The cabin is said to be more than a hundred years old. Surviving beside her husband are the following children;Mrs.Anna White;of Flint;Mich.;Mrs. Lottie Reed of Wick Haven;Mrs.Grace Simpson of Pricedale;Mrs.Mary Griffey at home;and Ephram;James and Jacob at home;eighteen grandchildren;5 great-grandchildren;one sister;Mrs.Lottie Butler;of Fairchance;and one brother;Charles Simpson of North Charleroi. The deceased was a member of the Metropolitan Baptist Church of Charleroi. Funeral services will be held Monday afternon at 2:00 o’clock at the late home with the Rev. Clemens in charge;followed by further services at 2:30 o’clock in the Metropolitan Baptist Church. Interment will be in Belle Vernon cemetery.
