Obituary

Mrs.Margaret Nichols of Speers,passed waay,suddenly Sunday afternoon,December 21,1931,at 3 o'clock,in her rocking chair at her accustomed place by the window of her home,while talking with her daughter.  She remarked that she felt a pain in her head,which were the last words she ever uttered,dying in 21 minutes.  Grandmother Nichols,as she was known,was a wonderful neighbor and friend to all who knew her,it can be truly said,a mother to all the children in Speers.  She was born in England and came to Speers 36 years ago from Youngstown,Ohio.  Her husband,who preceded her in death,many years ago,was a soldier in the Civil War.  A member of the Christian Church of Charleroi,a devoted Christian lady,she ever had a helping hand,particularly for the sick and needy.  She is survived by the following children:Mary and William Nichols,at home,Mrs.Margaret Dunkerly of Speers and the following grandchildren,Earl Dunkerly and Mrs.EstelI I.Provance of Speers.Great-grandchildren surviving are Norman and Earl C.Dunkerly;Ted ,Robert and Dona Lee Provence.  Two sisters,Sarah  and Mrs.Anna Greea,both of Mckeesport also survive.  Funeral services will be held on Tuesday afternoon,December 22nd,at 1:30 o'clcok from her late home in Speers,in charge of Rev.Byron Mahan,of the Charleroi Christian Church.  Intermet will be in the Belle Vernon Cemetery.
