Samuel W. Murphy, age 85 years, of 812 Broad avenue,Belle Vernon,died in the Charleroi-Monessen hospital,Sunday, November 30,1947,at 8:45 p.m. He had been an active citizen of Belle Vernon for many years,and was a member of the Methodist Church of that place and a former inspector in one of the Belle Vernon banks. Lately he had been involved in the insurance business. Surviving are a niece,Miss Ella Martin,of Pittsburgh. His wife,Mrs. Anna Springer Murphy preceded him in death in 1942. Friends are being received at the Melenuzer Funeral Home. Services will be held there Wednesday,December 3,1947,at 2 p.m.,and interment will follow in the Belle Vernon Cemetery. Chas. L. and Edwin Melenyzer are the funeral directors.
