William Mears,aged 62 years,died of pneumonia at his late home in 602 Green street, Belle Vernon,at 11 o'clock Sunday morning,January 4,1942. He had been ill only four days. Mr. Mears,watchman at the American Window Glass plant in Belle Vernon,was a member of the First Baptist Church of Belle Vernon;Charleroi Lodge 1030 of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows and Charleroi Lodge 615 Free and Accepted Masons. He leaves one daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Scott, at home;two grandchildren and five sisters, Mrs. Margaret Irish of Knoxville, Tenn.,Mrs. J.R. Davenport of Speers,Mrs. Elizabeth Murphy of Charleroi,Mrs.Howard L. Zeh of Belle Vernon and Mrs. Charles Raible of Duquesne. The remains are at the Toner funeral home in Belle Vernon where friends are being received and where funeral services will be held Wednesday,January 7,at 2:30 p.m. in charge of Rev. Percy Mundy,pastor of the Belle Vernon Baptist Church. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
