Geraldine Mingarel, aged 6,daughter of Mr.and Mrs.Albert Mingarel of rear 215 Schoonmaker avenue, succumbed Saturday evening,March 3,1928,in the Memorial hospital at Monongahela from burns received the same afternoon at her home. According to authorities, the little girl was left alone in the home Saturday afternoon,as the mother was called to aid a neighbor woman who was ill. Screams of the little girl attracted the mother who on entering the door of her home, found the little victim running about the room with her clothing ablaze. It was with difficulty that the frantic mother caught the frightened child and tore the burning clothes from her body but the fire whch had practically burned all the clothing from her body had inflicted deep burns and the face and body of the little victim was black. She was rushed to the hospital where death relieved her sufferings in a few hours. It is believed that while playing with a small iron the girl, reaching over the gas stove came in contact with the flames and her clothing caught afire. Funeral services will be held Tuesday with interment in the Belle Vernon Cemetery.
