Mrs. Charles L. Melenyzer,Sr.,aged 74,well-known resident of Monessen, formerly of Charleroi,died Thursday morning,September 10,1925,at 7:30 o'clock following a lingering illness. Mrs. Melenyzer,who was born in Belgium,for a number of years resided on a farm in Fallowfield township and enjoyed a wide circle of friends in the Monongahela valley. There survive besides her husband,four daughters and two sons,namely:Mrs. Edward Malicord and Mrs. Rose Hannen of Alliance,Ohio;Mrs. Joseph Beerens of Fallowfield township,and Mrs. Andrew Ebenhoch of Lynnwood;George Melenyzer of North Charleroi and Charles L. Melenyzer,local undertaker and furniture dealer;one brother,Ed Gysengem of Fallowfield township.Mrs. Melenyzer,despite her advanced age,was active in business and civic affairs and much of her time was occupied in looking after her realty holdings in this community. Funeral services will take place Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the home of Andrew Evenhoch of Lynnwood. Interment in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Former Charleroi friends of the deceased,who admired and loved her,account of her many estimable qualities of mind and heart, will attend the last sad rites.
