Obituary

John Lauder,Sr.,118 Price street, North Belle Vernon,died Thursday, Oct.21,1948,at 3 p.m. at his late home following a lingering illness.  He was born Feb. 24,1880. He was a retired mine foreman of the Somers Mine, Pittsburgh Coal company; a member of the Presbyterian Church at Charleroi, the Gumbert Lodge F. and A.M. of Fayette City and Knights of Pythias, Star Junction. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Margaret Lauder; one daughter, Mrs. Christine Dudick of Harrisburg; three sons, David at home,John of Sandusky, Ohio and Leroy of Belle Vernon; one brother, William of Elizabeth and three grandchildren.  Another son,Lt. Clifford Lauder was killed Nov. 18,1944 in Europe. Friends will be received at the late home.until Sunday Oct.24, when services will be held. Interment in Belle Vernon Cemetery.  Harold R.Toner, funeral director.
