Obituary
Samuel Long,46 year old Pricedale miner, was crushed to death with a fall of slate in the Republic mine No. 4 of the Repulbic Steel Corporation on Friday, July 14.1939. The accident occured about 2 o'clock. He leaves his widow, Hazel Long;a daughter, Martha and sons, John and Herman,all at home. Funeral services will be conducted from the home at 2 p.m. Monday with Rev. Clarence Stedlander of the Castle Shannon Lutheran Church officiating, followed by burial in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
