Obituary

Apparently victim of a heart attack,the body of Mrs. Mary Krekcha,53 years of age,was found late Tuesday evening,January 1,1946,along a path near her home not far from the Monongahela river bank.  A woman, Sara Dalfnos,Stockdale,walking along the path,leading from Route 88 to the river,noticed the body and called to two boys who were not far away,James Cowell,14,608 Lookout avenue, Charleroi and Allen Eagye,13,of Mapleview, Charleroi. The youths called State Police and the woman telephoned Constable Bruce McDonald of Speers, Officers said there were no marks on Mrs.Krekcha's body and there was no evidence of foul play,they reported. Death was attributed to a heart attack by deputy Coroner Francis Slezak of Charleroi.  He said the woman apparently had been dead about a half hour when the body was found at 5 p.m. She is survived by her husband, Conrad Krekcha,two sons, Michael of Cleveland and Joseph of Dunlevy,two daughters, Mrs. Anna Chiti of Dunlevy and Mrs. Julia Bartolozzi also of Dunlevy,one brother,John Homonk of Johnstown and eight grandchildren. She came to Dunlevy thirty-one years ago from Johnstown and was a membe of the Russian Orthodox Holy Trinity Church of Charleroi. Friends will be received at the home of her son, Joseph Katinsky of Dunlevy.  Services will be held there Friday morning,January 4,1946,at 9:30 a.m.,in charge of Rev. Gregory Soroka.  Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.  Francis C. Slezak is the funeral director.
