Peter Halgas,55,of 387 Ella street, Belle Vernon,died Monday, Jan. 31,1949 at 7:45 a.m. He was a piercing mill operator at the Allenport plant of the Pittsburgh Steel company;a member of the St. Sebastian R.C.Church,the Belle Vernon Musical Society,the Citizens Association of Pricedale and the Polish National Alliance Lodge. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Halgas;one daughter,Mrs. Anthony Zema;four sons,Joseph of Arnold City,Mack of Belle Vernon,Ernest of Monessen and Rudolph at home;three grandchildren;five sisters and four brothers in Poland. Friends will be received at the late home until Thursday,Feb. 3,at 10 a.m. when the remains will be taken to the St. Sebastian Church for Requiem Mass with Rev. Fr. Eugene W. Harkins officiating. Interment will follow in the Belle Vernon Cemetery. Harold R.Toner,funeral director.
