Elliott L. Hibbs,one of Monessen's and Westmoreland County's best known citizens,died suddenly early Wednesday evening,April 23,1947,at his home in Orchard Plan,North Belle Vernon. He was 73. Mr. Hibbs death,which was attributed to heart failure,came only a few weeks after the sudden passing of Mrs. Hibbs,and the shock of her death,proved too great a strain.Mr. Hibbs was a member of the First Presbyterain Church. Surviving are the following children,Dr. Samuel G. Hibbs,a psychiatrist,of Tampa,Fla.,Mrs.Louise Srodes,who made her home with her father,Wayne A.of Monessen,Mrs. Martha Arnold,of North Belle Vernon,and Robert L.,a student at Miami University,Coral Gables,Fla. His twin brother,George W.of Uniontown also remains. Friends are being received at the Harper Memorial Chapel,McKee avenue and Parkway,Monessen. Funeral services will be held at the same place Saturday at 2 p.m. with burial to be made at the Belle Vernon Cemetey.
