Obituary

Mrs. Mildred Gaston Hibbs, wife of Elliott L. Hibbs, died suddenly at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, February 15,1947,at the family home on Orchard avenue,North Belle Vernon.  Death was due to a brain emobolism.  She was 67 years of age. Although Mrs. Hibbs had not been in the best of health,her condition was not regarded as critical.  She was taken ill Friday night but seemed improved Saturday,although keeping to her room.  She passed away quietly as she was sleeping. Mrs. Hibbs was an early resident of Monessen,living there most of her married life.  The family resided in Greensburg for several years while Mr. Hibbs was serving as Westmoreland County Commissioner and only recently moved to North Belle Vernon.  Mrs. Hibbs was born in Finleyville. The following children survive; Dr. Samuel of Tampa,Fla,.Mrs. Glenn Srodes,at home,Mrs. Earl Arnold,of North Belle Vernon,Wayne A. of Monessen,and Robert,a student at Miami University,Coral Gables,Fla.  A sister,Olive Gaston,of Finleyviile,and eight grandchildren also survivie. Services will be held at the Harry G. Harper funeral home,McKee avenue and Parkway,Monessen, Tuesday at 11 a.m.  The Rev. Fred M. Bennett,pastor of the First Presbyterian Church,of which Mrs. Hibbs was an active member,will officiate.  Interment will be in the Belle Vernon Cemetery.
