Obituary
Martha Jane Hess, age 41 years,of Speers,died in the Marine Hospital,Pittsburgh,Saturday, October 21,1944,at 10:50 a.m. She was born in Allenport,February 12,1903. She is survived by her mother, Mrs. Rilla Hess of Vesta;one daughter, Mrs. Roy Wright of Speers;one son, Pfc. Peter Kinney of the United States Army serving in Germany; two brothers, George of Fayette City and Robert with the U.S. Army;two sisters, Mrs. Carl Garrich of Monessen and Mrs. Clarence Davis of Smithton and four grandchildren. Friends will be received at the McCroy Funeral Home in Fayette City. Services will be held there Tuesday, October 24,1944,at 2:30 p.m. Rev. C.G. White,pastor of the United Brethren Church of Monessen,will have charge of services and interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. George M. McCrory and Son are the funeral directors.
