George Hammitt of 218 Market St.;Belle Vernon;died at his home Thursday;October 21;1943;at 11:45 a.m.after a lingering illness. He was 63. Survivors include three sons;Henry of Pittsburgh;Marvin of Belle Vernon RD.;and George Hammitt of Hunter Field;Ga.;two brothers;Walter and Van;both of Lancaster;O.;and a sister;Mrs.Howard Keenan of Fisher Heights. Friends will be received at the Toner Funeral Home until Sunday;Oct.24;at 2 p.m.;when services under the direction of the Rev.Herbert Mountan of the Belle Vernon Baptist Church will be held.
