A resident of Monessen for the past 42 years,William B. Hughes,aged 64 years,died suddenly Sunday, October 4,1942 at his home,224 Donner avenue; He had been employed for many years by the Carnegie Illinois Steel Co.,but for the past few years had been retired. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lillie Rowland,and the following children,Rowland Hughes of McKeesport,Mrs. Lillie Williams of Clairton,Mrs. Dorothy Fisher of Monongahela, Mrs. Ruth Crusan of Smithton,Mrs. Virginia Linneman of Monessen,Francis and William at home,Woodrow Hughes of Camp Polk,La.,and Charles Hughes of Keesler Field, Miss. Eight grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be held Wednesday,October 7,at 1 o;clock at the Woodward Home for Funeral s,where friends are being received. Dr. R.M. Fowles,pastor of the Methodist Church, will officiate. Interment will follow in the Belle Vernon Cemetery. Dave H. Woodward,undertaker in charge.
