Suffering a stroke Thursday evening;Mrs.Sylvania L.Hough;well-known Washington Township woman and widow of Johnson Hough;died at 8 o’clock Friday morning at her home;near Gillespie. Death came without the victim regaining consciousness. Mrs.Hough was a native of Washington township;being born 82 years ago;the daughter of the late Mr.and Mrs.Denton Lynn. She spent her entire life in that district. Her husband during his lifetime;was engaged in farming in that area. Mrs.Hough was a charter member of Col.Andrew Lynn chapter of D.A.R.in Uniontown and the First Presbyterian Church at Fayette City. She is survived by the following children;Lloyd and H.D.Hough;Washington township;Mrs.Edward Dreyer;Belle Vernon;and Mrs.A.B. O’Neil;of Charleroi. Also surviving are a number of brothers and sisters;Mrs.John Gray;Belle Vernon;Mrs.Olive Lackey;Uniontown;Mrs.Clyde Boyd and Mrs.C.L.Everett;both of Belle Vernon;Charles;Joseph and Miss Martha Lynn;all of Washington township.
