Obituary

Suffering a stroke Thursday evening,Mrs.Sylvania L.Hough,well-known Washington Township woman and widow of Johnson Hough,died at 8 o'clock Friday morning at her home,near Gillespie. Death came without the victim regaining consciousness. Mrs.Hough was a native of Washington township,being born 82 years ago,the daughter of the late Mr.and Mrs.Denton Lynn. She spent her entire life in that district. Her husband during his lifetime,was engaged in farming in that area. Mrs.Hough was a charter member of Col.Andrew Lynn chapter of D.A.R.in Uniontown and the First Presbyterian Church at Fayette City. She is survived by the following children,Lloyd and H.D.Hough,Washington township,Mrs.Edward Dreyer,Belle Vernon,and Mrs.A.B. O'Neil,of Charleroi. Also surviving are a number of brothers and sisters,Mrs.John Gray,Belle Vernon,Mrs.Olive Lackey,Uniontown,Mrs.Clyde Boyd and Mrs.C.L.Everett,both of Belle Vernon,Charles,Joseph and Miss Martha Lynn,all of Washington township.  Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2:45 from the Presbyterian Church in Fayette City with internment in the Belle Vernon Cemetery.
