Lawrence C.Gess, Route 71, R. D. 1, Belle Vernon, died suddenly Thursday June 24,1949 at 8:30 a. m. at his home. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Bertha Watkins Gess; three children, Walter of New Jersey, C. Elizabeth Gess at home, Mrs. William H. Willson, West Newton; three brothers, Clyde and Edward of Derry, and William of Pittsburgh, a sister, Mrs. Clara McWhetter of Oklahoma; and four grandchildren. Friends are being received at the Melenyzer Funeral Home Broad avenue, Belle Vernon. Funeral services will be held Saturday evening at 8 p. m. from the Funeral home. Private interment will follow Sunday morning in the Belle Vernon Cemetery. Friends are asked to omit flowers. C. L. Melenyzer, funeral director,in charge.
