Obituary

The badly decomposed body of a man taken from the Monongahela river between Sunnyside and Webster shortly after 10 o'clock Wednesday morning,February 12,1930 was identified as that of Mike Galayda,62,of Grindstone,Fayette county, who has been missing from his home since the first week of December.  Indentification was made possible by a card in his possession with the address of the manager of the foreign department of a Charleroi bank.  The manager at once got into communication with relatives of the supposed victim and a daughter completed the identification and arranged for the burial of her parent Thursday afternoon in Belle Vernon Cemetery.   Trainmen on the P.& L.E. noticed an object in the river and with the aid of nearby residents brought it to shore and it was later removed to a Monongahela mortuary.  The daughter, who had previously reported the mysterious disappearance of her father believes that he was the man who jumped from the Belle Vernon bridge on the evening of December 19.  He is survived by a widow,a son,and a daughter.
