Obituary

Mrs. Sarah Franks,64,26 Mulberry St.,Belle Vernon,who was rushed to Charleroi-Monessen Hospital Tuesday afternoon after being severly burned in the kitchen of her sons's home nearby,died at 4:55 p.m.Tuesday,March 7,1944,four hours after being admitted.  She had been terribly burned about the body.  Cause of the accident is not known for Mrs.Franks was alone at the time and may have put newspapers into a stove.  Her clothing was aflame when her daughter-in-law entered the home.  The junior Mrs.Franks was burned in beating out the flames.  Survivors include one daughter,Mrs. Mary Leezer of Monongahela.four sons,Felix and William of Belle Vernon,Cpl.Albert Franks who is in the U.S.Army in England,and Pvt.George Franks with the Army at Camp Wolters,Tex.  Five grandchildren and one great-grandchild also survive.  Friends will be received at the home of Felix Franks,16 Eggers Ave.,Belle Vernon.  Services will be conducted on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. in charge of Rev.Miinard of the Free Methodist Church.  Interment in Belle Vernon Cemetery.  Harold R.Toner is the funeral director.
