Struck by a hit and run driver, Leonard Flory,16,of Fayette City,died Sunday morning, January 3,1943 in the Charleroi-Monessen Hospital. According to Motor Police,Leonard,who lives at Naomi,near Fayette City,was walking north along the Fayette City-Belle Vernon Road facing traffic at 12:30 a.m. Sunday when he was hit by a motorist who did not stop. He had been visiting with a friend in Belle Vernon and was on his way home with a Sunday paper under his arm. He was removed by ambulance to the hospital where he died at 2:30 a.m. Leonard,who was formerly a student at the Marion High school,quit recently to accept a position at the Belle Vernon American Window Glass plant. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Cepreano Flory,and three sisters, Mrs. Genevieve Treatter of Monessen, Mrs. Jessie Zatteli of Sutersville and Esther at home. Friends will be received at the Bake Funeral Home in Fayette City until time for services Wednesday,January 6,at 2 p.m. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
