Pastor of Pricedale Union Church for the past seven years and for twenty-eight years employed in the offices of the Page Steel and Wire Company in Monessen,the Rev. Harold C. Dunn,aged 60 years,died at 9:45 o'clock Wednesday night,April 12,1939 in Uniontown Hospital. Death followed an operation the minister underwent during his two weeks confinement in the hospital. He had been in failing health for a number of months. Rev. Dunn,who resided at 317 Short street, Belle Vernon,was active in practically all community affairs of both Pricedale and Belle Vernon. He was a member of the Monongahela Valley Ministerial Association and was well-known throughtout the district. Born and educated in England,he came to Monessen in 1910. Six years ago he transferred his residence to Belle Vernon. Rev. Dunn was a graduate of Simon Langton College at Canterbury, England,and after graduation taught in private English schools. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Alice Dunn; four daughters, Miss Maude Dunn of Philadelphia,Mrs. C.E. Guthrie of Coshocton, Ohio,Mrs. Alfred Lurpi of Brownsville and Mrs. R.C. Jones,Jr. of Philadelphia;two sons, Harold F. Dunn of Cleveland,Ohio and Herbert Dunn of Monessen;one grandchild,Evelyn Mae Dunn;two sisters and five brothers in England. Friends will be received at the Melenyzer Funeral Home,Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon,until Saturday afternoon. Funeral services will be held in Pricedale Union Church at 2:30 Saturday afternoon with the Monongahela Valley Ministerial Association in charge. Interment will be made in the Belle Vernon Cemetery.
