Obituary

John Duda,of Fairhope,was drwoned n the yougheny river near Smithton,some time Wednesday afternoon, July 29,1931.  Mr. Duda,age 48,with two companions,had gone to the river but as he could not swim,he remained on the bank while his companions disported in the river.  Returning to the shore the two bathers discovered their companion missing and a few minutes later found his partly submerged body in the river.  A call was sent to the West Newton fire department and firemen responding with a pulmotor worked for several hours in an effort to restore life but to no avail.  Mr. Duda is survived by a wife and five children.  Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 4 o'clock with interment in the Belle Vernon Cemetery.
