Fayette City Man Electrocuted at Construction Job
An Emergency crew applying artificial respiration to a Fayette City electrocuted worker for four hours restored a faint heart beat last night; but failed to revive him. The victim was John Chesniak; 34 of Fayette City; R.D. 1. an employee of a construction crew installing a new power line in Allegheny County. He was driving a truck from which wire was being unreeled when the line fouled a 4000-volt wire. Chesniak; setting in the cab of the truck; was unhurt until he stepped out and touched the ground while holding the door handle. Whitewall Borough police aided power company workers in applying artificial respiration and administering oxygen. When he showed signs of life after four hours; they redoubled their efforts; but he was pronounced dead two hours later. Born in Jersey City; N. J. Chesniak was a member of the Holy Trinity Russian Orthodox Church of Charleroi. Surviving are his parents; Mr. and Mrs. Paul Chesniak; three brothers; Andrew; of Fayette City and Michael and Emil; at home. Friends are being received at the late home.
