John Connell died Sunday April 4, 1937.  Apparently the victim of liquor, John Connell, 49, a former resident of Connellsville, was found Monday morning at Pricedale with an empty glass on the floor near him and a quart bottle on the table at the side of which he dropped dead. Authorities are investigating to determine whether the liquor was of the poison variety. Evidently the glass had contained liquor and sugar. Connell fell from a standing position, and shanty mate,Sam Carson found his body after returning early Monday after visiting a sister in Pricedale. Connell was in normal health when last seen about 3:30 Sunday afternoon near his one-room residence. He had resided in the Pricedale district for the last two years. A son, Vincent, residents in 238 Prospect street, Connellsville. (Herald - April 5, 1937)
