Obituary

At an early hour on Saturday morning,Dec.1,1928,the Death Angel entered the home of Luther Corwin, one of Belle Vernon's oldest and most respected citizens, and called him to the Great Beyond while he was peacefully sleeping, after a long and painful siege of heart trouble. Mr.Corwin, who was a son of the late Barnet and Martha (Springer) Corwin, was born in Belle Vernon,Nov. 19,1856,and was a life long resident of the town, except a few years spent in Avalon,Pa. In early life he united with the Belle Vernon Baptist church and for many years was a valued member of the church choir. He was of quiet habits and devoted to his home and family,a kind neighbor and a true friend. To mourn the loss he leaves the following relatives, his wife,Elizabeth Garee Corwin, one daughter,Mrs.John E.Barron, two sons,Lloyd W.Corwin,of Belle Vernon, and Robert W.Corwin,of Jeannette, eight grandchildren and one brother,Odell Corwin,of Belle Vernon. Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon from his home on Speer street, and interment made in the Belle Vernon cemetery.
