Charles Ellin, 68,of Johnston Avenue, Belle Vernon, died Monday, April 30,2001,in Mon Valley Hospital. He was born June 29,1932,in Monessen,a son of the late Charles Ellin and Dorothy Leavor Ellin, who survives and resides in Monessen. Presbyterian by faith,he was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles 2399 of Monessen, the Polish National Alliance and several other social clubs in Monessen. He was active in the Holy Name Duck Pin League. He had resided in Belle Vernon since 1983,having formerly lived in Monessen. He was a U.S.Army veteran of the Korean Conflict,earning a Bronze Star and the Medal of Valor for heroism for fighting in Korea. He retired in 1985 from the blast furnace of the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Monessen Plant. In addition to his mother,he is survived by his wife, Linda Imbrogno Ellin; three sons and daughters-in-law,Charles and Lisa Ellin of Hollywood, Calif.,Michael and Kelly Ellin of Belle Vernon and Glen and Denise Ellin of Folsom, Calif.;four daughters and three sons-in-law,Joyce and Jeff Stevens of Cleveland,Ohio,Cindy and Chuck Williams of Charleroi, Linda and Kendrick Lora of Monessen and Vicki Ellin of Monessen; one stepson and daughter-in-law,Albert and Kelly Imbrogno of Belle Vernon;two sisters and brothers-in-law,Dolly and John Cieply of Monessen and Alice and Don Frollo of Monessen;16 grandchildren;two great-grandchildren;his father-in-law and mother-in-law,Ron and Dolores Powley of Charleroi;as well as many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.,a Golden Rule Member Firm, 700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,where services will be held Friday at 11 a.m.,with the Rev. Dr. John R. Rankin,interim pastor of the Roscoe Presbyterian Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
