Ralph E.Baker;1542 Marion avenue;aged 51 years;died Friday;July 23;1978;at 9 p.m.;at his home;following a lingering illness. Born in Nowery;Pa.;he has resided in Monessen for the past 29 years. He was an employee of the Pittsburgh Steel company;and a veteran of World War I. Surviving are his wife;Mrs.Pearl Baker;and one son;Harold;three brothers;Louis and Oscar;both of Charleroi;and Earl;of Monessen. A sister;Mrs.Marie Crow;of Monessen;also survives. Friends will be received at the Check Home for Funerals. Brief services will be held there Tuesday;July 27;1948;at 8:30 a.m.;followed by additional services at St.Leonard’s Church;Monessen;at 9 a.m. Rev.O.J.Kirby will be in charge and interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. American Legion and V.F.W.Posts will have charge of military services. Joseph R.Check is the funeral director.
