Obituary

Ralph E.Baker,1542 Marion avenue,aged 51 years,died Friday,July 23,1978,at 9 p.m.,at his home,following a lingering illness.  Born in Nowery,Pa.,he has resided in Monessen for the past 29 years.  He was an employee of the Pittsburgh Steel company,and a veteran of World War I.   Surviving are his wife,Mrs.Pearl Baker,and one son,Harold,three brothers,Louis and Oscar,both of Charleroi,and Earl,of Monessen.  A sister,Mrs.Marie Crow,of Monessen,also survives.  Friends will be received at the Check Home for Funerals. Brief services will be held there Tuesday,July 27,1948,at 8:30 a.m.,followed by additional services at St.Leonard's Church,Monessen,at 9 a.m.  Rev.O.J.Kirby will be in charge and interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.  American Legion and V.F.W.Posts will have charge of military services.  Joseph R.Check is the funeral director.
