Obituary

Mrs. Agnes Baker, wife of Orvin Baker, died Wednesday, January 8, 1940 at her home, 53 Schoonmaker avenue, and her passing was quite a shock to members of her family and friends.  She had been suffering for several days from the effects of a cold, but arose as usual yesterday morning and saw her husband off to work.  When her daughter, Mrs. Harry  Gribben, who resides in the downstairs of the home, arose a short time later, she heard her mother moaning and going to her room found that she had suffered a stroke.  A doctor was summoned, but she never regained consciousness and died at 2:45 in the afternoon. The family has resided in Monessen for the past 38 years, coming here from McKeesport.  Mrs. Baker was a member of the Dames of Malta Lodge of Charleroi, and the Methodist Church of this city.   Surviving is her husband, Orvin Baker, a son, Stewart Wild, of Brownsville, and a daughter, Mrs. Harry C. Gribben, of Monessen.  A sister, Mrs. Howard Satterfield, of  McKcesport, also survives, along with two brothers, Page Feightner, of Monessen, and Tom Feightner, of  Homestead.  Funeral services will be held Saturday afterrnoon at 2 o'clock from the late home, with Rev. Edward L. Boeticher, pastor of the Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow in the Belle Vernon Cemetery.
