Obituary

Robert Basile,who celebrated his twelfth birthday on Tuesday, June 30,1931,was enjoying a swim with about twenty companions near the American Window Glass Company plant at Belle Vernon.  Shortly after three o'clock the boys left the water and then missed Robert.  They realized that he had drowned and all started to dive in hopes of finding the body.  Tony Loretta finally located the body and the boys used first aid methods but without avail and the victim was rushed to a physician's office where the Belle Vernon fire departments used their pulmotor without results.  He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Basile of East Belle Vernon and besides his parents is survived by four sisters and five brothers.  Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon with interment in the Belle Vernon Cemetery.
