Rev. Judge D. Yancey,died suddenly Monday,May 31,1954,at noon in his home on Washington avenue,Finleyville. Death was due to a heart ailment. He was born March 24,1892,in Buxton,Iowa,a son of the late Matt and Matilda Yancey. Mr. Yancey had been a resident of Finleyville for the past 25 years and served 11 years as pastor of the First Baptist Church of Finleyville.From 1941 he served as supply pastor in churches of the district. He delivered a sermon at the Quinn Chapel Methodist Church in Donora last Sunday. He is survived by his wife, Lola;a brother,Roosevelt Yancey,of Pittsburgh and two sisters.
