A former Monessen man, Airman Ernest Ward, 43,of Tucson, Ariz.,was found dead at his home on Friday, Nov. 1,1968. Mr. Ward was finishing his 20th year with the Air Force. He would then have retired. Surviving are five brothers, Albert of Gary, Ind.,Herman of Pittsburgh, Edward and Robert of Detroit,Mich.and Donald with the U.S. Air Force in New Jersey;six sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Carter and Betty Ward of Detroit, Mrs. Harriet Wilcox of Pittsburgh,Mrs. Lois Colbert of Detroit,Mrs. Darlene Pugh in California state and Mrs. Mildred Thomas of Monessen. Friends will be received after 3 p.m.,Nov. 8 at the Beverly C Draper Funeral Home,Monessen. Service Saturday,Nov. 9,at 11 a.m. in Mt. Calvary Baptist Church,Monessen,with the Rev. Philip L. Greene,pastor of Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church at Whitsett,officiating. He will be assisted by the Rev. Edgar Archie,pastor of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. Interment in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Beverly C. Draper is the funeral director.
