Obituary

Lee L.Vaughen of 351 Pennsylvania avenue,North Charleroi,died in the Charleroi-Monessen hospital,November 24,1953,at 10:40 a.m. Mr.Vaughen was born in Johnstown,Pa.,November 6,1882,the son of Benjamin F.and Anna E.Bingle Vaughen. He came to Charleroi twenty-nine years ago from Beaver Falls,and was employed as an accountant at the Allenport plant of the Pittsburgh Steel company. He was a former Burgess of North Charleroi and also served as a school director in that borough. He is survived by two sons,Lieutenant Commander William Vaughen,stationed in Japan with the United States Navy,Richard at home,Miss Betty Vaughen at home,two brothers,Kenneth E.Vaughen of Monessen and Frank Vaughen of Peoria,Illinois,one sister,Elizabeth Vaughen of Portsmouth,Ohio and three grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Francis C.Slezak Funeral Home. Services will be held there Saturday,November 28,1953,at 10 a.m.,in charge of Rev.Joseph N.Wittkofski,and interment will follow in Belle Vernon cemetery. Francis C.Slezak is the funeral director.
