George Tadavich,85,of 1008 Hill St., Belle Vernon,died Sunday, July 2,1972 at 11:15 p.m. in Charleroi-Monessen Hospital. He was born in Czechoslovakia March 15,1887. He resided in Belle Vernon since 1936 and formerly lived in Fayette City. He retired in 1960 from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel's Allenport Plant and was formerly employed for many years at the Somers Mine in Pricedale. He was a member of St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church, Monessen,Citizens Association of Pricedale and Russian Brotherhood Society of Charleroi. Surviving are his widow,Catherine Cicsak Tadavich; three daughters, Mrs. Mike (Anna) Wassilchalk of Belle Vernon, Mrs. Martin (Mary) Davin Jr. of Belle Vernon and Mrs. Harry (Helen) Gregory of Belle Vernon;one brother and one sister in Europe; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.Friends will be received from 5 to 10 p.m. Tuesday and 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m. Wednesday at the Shelby D. Ferguson Funeral Home,Belle Vernon,where a Blessing service will be held Thursday,July 6,at 9:30 a.m.followed by additional services at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church,Monessen,with Msgr. Andrew D. Parvensky officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D. Ferguson,funeral director.
