James R.Smith Sr.;65;of 219 Hoffman St.;Fairhope;died Monday;Nov.15;1976;at 10:55 p.m. in Presbyterian Hospital;Pittsburgh. Mr.Smith was born May 17;1911;a son of the late Archie and Isabelle Smith. A resident of Fairhope for the past 30 years he was a member of St.Sebastian Catholic Church;Belle Vernon. Mr.Smith has been employed for 44 years at the Monessen Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. He retired in 1973. He was a member of the Federal Credit Union;USW Local 1229 R.and Retired People’s Club of Monessen. Survivors include his widow;Anna Spirko Smith;three sons;James R.Jr.of Uniontown;William Anthony of Monessen;David Michael at home;three daughters;Mrs.Frank (Elizabeth) Bartolozzi of Dunlevy;Mrs.Norman (Patricia) Haywood of Dunlevy;and Mrs.Curtis (Mary Jane) Lessman of Charleroi;and 12 grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday. A blessing service will be held at the funeral home at 9 a.m. Friday followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St.Sebastian Catholic Church;Belle Vernon at 9:30 a.m. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
