Obituary

Samuel Sergi,87,of 414 Oneida St.Monessen,died Monday,Aug.9,1976 at 7:15 p.m. in the Charleroi Division of Mon Valley Hospital. He was born May 8,1889 in Callabria,Italy,and moved to Monessen in 1959 after living in Belle Vernon. Mr.Sergi was a U.S.Army veteran of World War I,a retired employee of the former American Window Glass Co.in Belle Vernon,and a member of Monessen American Legion Post 28 and G.B.U.of Monessen. Surviving are his widow,Lillian Dugan Sergi,six sons,Samuel V.Jr.of Belle Vernon,John L.and David P.,both of Monessen,James D.of Lynn,Mass.,Domenick of Bangor,Maine and Frank of the state of Missouri,seven daughters,Mrs.James (Lena) Jampetro of Belle Vernon,Mrs.Michael (Catherine) Uhor,of Arnold City,Margaret Acton of Charleroi,Mrs.Ralph (Frances) Caputo and Mrs.Marvin (Loretta) Cooper,both of Pontiac,Mich.,Mrs.William (Jean) Neinhause of Columbus,Ohio and Mrs.Kenneth (Pauline) Woddering of Mount Vernon,Ohio,43 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Shirley D.Ferguson Funeral Home,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held Thursday,Aug.12,1976 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home,conducted by a Priest from St.Sebastian Catholic Church,Belle Vernon. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
