Obituary

Kenneth Frederick Smith,63,of the Washington Hotel,Charleroi,died Monday,Sept.15,1975 at 6:30 p.m. in the Veterans Hospital,Oakland,Pittsburgh,after a prolonged illness. Born in Everson on Feb.17,1912,he was a son of the late James Carson and Elizabeth Serena Smith. Mr.Smith lived in Charleroi the past 35 years and was formerly employed as a clerk in the storeroom at the Allenport Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. He was a former member of the United Brethern Church of Everson. A veteran of World War II,he served in the European Theater of Operations with the U.S.Army. Surviving are his widow,Virginia Price Smith,two sons,Donald Smith of Speers and Reld Smith of Charleroi,one sister,Mrs.Madeline Lind of Youngwood,five grandchildren,two nieces and one nephew. Friends will be received at the Gerald R.Essey Funeral Home,626 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,after 7 p.m. Wednesday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Services will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev.Joseph Rial of the United Methodist Church of Monongahela officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Gerald R.Essey is funeral director in charge.
