Kenneth Frederick Smith;63;of the Washington Hotel;Charleroi;died Monday;Sept.15;1975 at 6:30 p.m. in the Veterans Hospital;Oakland;Pittsburgh;after a prolonged illness. Born in Everson on Feb.17;1912;he was a son of the late James Carson and Elizabeth Serena Smith. Mr.Smith lived in Charleroi the past 35 years and was formerly employed as a clerk in the storeroom at the Allenport Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. He was a former member of the United Brethern Church of Everson. A veteran of World War II;he served in the European Theater of Operations with the U.S.Army. Surviving are his widow;Virginia Price Smith;two sons;Donald Smith of Speers and Reld Smith of Charleroi;one sister;Mrs.Madeline Lind of Youngwood;five grandchildren;two nieces and one nephew. Friends will be received at the Gerald R.Essey Funeral Home;626 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon;after 7 p.m. Wednesday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Services will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev.Joseph Rial of the United Methodist Church of Monongahela officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
