He was born in Pittsburgh on April 25;1905 and lived in this vicinity the past 40 years. Mr.Smith was a retired employee of Allenport Works of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. Surviving are his widow;Pauline Kline Smith;five sons;Andrew J.of Portsmouth;Va.;Daniel R.of Charleroi R.D.2;William A.of Mantus;N.J.;Edward of Washington and John of Pt.Pleasant;W.Va.;six daughters;Mrs.Ralph (Margaret) Hull of Charleroi;Mrs.James (Martha) Baker of Portsmouth;Va.;Mrs.Paul (Alberta) Murphy of Elizabeth;Mrs.Wayne (Robena) Moe of Warren;Minn.;Mrs.Mary Lou Schultz of Florida and Anna Mae Smith;three sisters;Mrs.Margaret Metz of Eighty Four;R.D.1;Mrs.Martha Barwell of Florida and Anna Mae of Pittsburgh;30 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Friends are being received at the Francis C.Slezak Funeral Home;Charleroi;from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.Monday. Services will be held there Tuesday at 2 p.m.with the Rev.Frank Bodnar officiating.
