Obituary

Joseph Sadowski sr.,59,of 800 Fayette Ave.,Belle Vernon,died Thursday,Feb.1,1973,at approximately 6 p.m.in a highway accident on Interstate 75 near Wildwood,Fla. He was born in Arnold City Nov.26,1913,was owner and operator of Sadowski's Super Market and owner of the Lynnwood Bowling Lanes. A member of St.Sebastian R.C.Church,he was a member of the Monessen BPO Elks,the Belle Vernon American Legion,the Fairhope Rod and Gun Club and the Arnold City Polish Club. Survivors include his wife,Cecelia Mislak Sadowski,one son,Joseph Jr.of Belle Vernon,two daughters,Mrs.Frank Sivek of Belle Vernon and Mrs.Dwight Williams of Belle Vernon,his mother,Amelia Perry of Pontiac,Mich.,one brother,William Sadowski of Belle Vernon,five sisters,Mrs.Sylvia Humfrey of Belle Vernon,Mrs.Mary Steinberg of Belle Vernon,Mrs.Helen Glamb of Detroit,Mich.,Mrs.Frances Gillen of Pontiac,Mich.,and Mrs.Blanche Newton of Union Lake,Mich.and eight grandchildren. Friends will be received from 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m.Monday at the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home,Belle Vernon,where a prayer service will be held Tuesday,Feb.6,at 9:30 a.m.followed by a Mass of Resurrection at 10 a.m.at St.Sebastian R.C.Church,Belle Vernon,with Msgr.Martin J.O'Toole,as celebrant. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers,the family suggests contributions to the American Cancer Society. Shelby D.Ferguson is the funeral director.
