Henry Smith of Eastgate Manor, Monessen,died Thursday,July 10,1969 at 9:20 a.m. in Charleroi-Monessen Hospital after a short illness. Mr. Smith was born in Perry Co.,Alabama,and had been a resident of Monesen for the past 47 years. He was a retired employee of the Page Division of the American Chain and Cable Co.of Monessen. He was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. Surviving are a brother, Sidney of Detroit, Mich.;two step-sons,Jeff Hewitt of Clairton and Robert Hill of Pittsburgh;two step-daughters,Alice and Dolores Hill of Steubenville,Ohio;three nephews,Pleas and Jesse Lee Smith,both of Detroit and Roosevelt of Bessemer,Ala.;a niece,Pollyanna Wellborne of Detroit and nine grandchildren. Friends are being received at the Beverly C. Draper Funeral Home,Monessen after 1 p.m. Sunday. Services are Tuesday,July 15 at 11 a.m. at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church,Monessen with the Rev. Edgar Archie,pastor, officiating. Interment at Belle Vernon Cemetery. Beverly C. Draper,funeral director.
