Michael Semancik Sr.;73;of 135 Greenwood Ave.;Belle Vernon;died Thursday;July 2;1964;at 1:10 p.m.in St.Francis Hospital;Pittsburgh. Mr.Semancik was a member of Holy Spirit Church;Fayette City;the Holy Name Society of the church;and the First Slovak Union of the United States. He retired in 1959 from the blooming mill of the Monessen plant of Pittsburgh Steel Co. Born in Czechoslovakia on July 11;1890;he came to the U.S.in 1907. Surviving are his widow;Elizabeth Gurbal Semancik;seven sons;John of Van Voorhis;Michael Jr.;Andrew and Frank of Belle Vernon;Anthony of Fayette City;Stephen of Landover;Md.;and Joseph at home;two daughters;Mrs.Lloyd (Mary) Miller of Belle Vernon and Mrs.O.J.Kluh of Cheverly Manor;Md.;two sisters;Mrs.Julia Girgle of Lorrain;Ohio;and Mrs.Stephen Hudak of Wick Haven;twenty-seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A son;Albert;died in 1942. Friends are being received at the Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home;Fayette City;where Prayer will take place Monday;July 6;at 9:30 a.m. followed by Solemn Requiem High Mass at 10 a.m.in Holy Spirit Church;Fayette City.
