Obituary

Frank David Smoody Sr.,34,of 725 B.Malmedy Village,Clairton,a former resident of Belle Vernon R.D.2,died in Veterans Hospital,Aspinwall,on Saturday July 13,1963,after an extended illness. Mr.Smoody was born in Crucible,June 19,1929 and was a veteran of World War II. A resident of Clairton the past five and one-half years,he was employed as a machine operator for Liggett Spring and Axle Co.,East Monongahela. Surviving are his widow,Catherine Rukavina Smoody,three sons,Frank David Jr.,Daniel and John,all at home,his parents,Mr.and Mrs.John Smoody.of Belle Vernon R.D.2,two brothers,Alex S.of Louisville,Ky.and Charles William of Pricedale,and a sister,Helen M.Smoody of Belle Vernon R.D.2. Friends are being received at the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home,Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon, where Prayer services will be held Tuesday,July 16,at 9:30 a.m.followed by service of Requiem High Mass at 10 a.m.in St.Sebastian R.C. Church,Belle Vernon. Rev.Martin J.O'Toole will officiate. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D.Ferguson,funeral director.
