Obituary

Andrew Sakalik, 79,of 7 Third St.,Pricedale,died Monday morning March 4,1963,at 3:10 a.m. in Brownsville General Hospital.  Mr. Sakalik was born in Austria-Hungary,March 4,1884. He was a member of St. Sebastian R.C.Church,Belle Vernon and of Jednota Lodge 369 of Donora. He had resided in Pricedale since 1928.  Mr. Sakalik had been employed as a machine operator at the Somers No. 4 Mine, Pricedale,where he retired in 1949. He belonged to the United Mine Workers of America.  Surviving are two sons, John of Belle Vernon R.D.2 and George of Belle Vernon;two daughters, Mrs. John (Mary) Dalola of Romulus, Mich. and Mrs. Charles (Anna) Smoody,with whom he made his home;eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Susan on Dec. 13,1955and by a son,Michael on April 23,1962. Friends are being received at the Shelby D. Ferguson Funeral Home,Belle Vernon,during hours of 1 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m.  Funeral on Wednesday,March 6,at 10 a.m. from the St. Sebastian R.C.Church in Belle Vernon,with the Rev. Andrew King, pastor,officiating. Interment in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D Ferguson,funeral director.
