Joseph Hunter Shaw, 66,former superintendent of Peoples Gas Co.,Monessen, died Friday, March 10,1961 at 3 p.m. in Mt. Clemens General Hospital,Mt. Clemens, Mich. Mr. Shaw, whose residence was at 639 McKee Ave.,Monessen left last Sunday to visit with his son-in-law and daughter,Mr. and Mrs. William (Betty) Laird in Detroit,Mich. Mr. Shaw was retired from suprintendency of Peoples Gas five years ago. He was a veteran of World War I and a member of Veterans of Foreigh Wars, Monessen. He was also a former member of Monessen Kiwanis Club. Surviving are his widow, Virginia Bertani Shaw; two daughters, Mrs. Julius (Louise) Treater of Monessen and Mrs. Laird; four grandchildren; a brother,Harry of Monessen; four sisters, Margaret Shaw and Mrs. Lucy Hunt,both of Monessen; Mrs.Mary Ellen Robinson of Brownsville and Mrs. Willow McGowan of Baltimore, Md. Friends will be received at the H. Denver Rhome Funeal Home,Monessen, after 7 o'clock Saturday evening.
