John Edward Samek Jr.,46,of 318 Mikula Rd.,Arnold City.Belle Vernon R.D. died Wednesday,Aug.17,1960 at 8:35 a.m. in the Veterans Administration Hospital, Oakland,Pittsburgh after an illness of six months. He was born in Washington Twp.,Fayette County,Feb. 16,1914,a son of John Edward Samek Sr. and the late Eva Machlica Samek. He was a member of St. Edward R.C.Church, Fayette City. A veteran of World War II,he served as staff sergeant with the 457th Bomber Squadron. He was a coal miner by occupation. Surviving are his wife,Etalka;a son,Ronald, at home;his father,John Edward Samek Sr.; a brother,Martin of East McKeesport;a sister,Mrs. Theodore (Anna) Tomalski of Miklua Rd.,Arnold City. Friends are being received at the George M.McCrory and Son Funeral Home,Fayette City,where Prayer services will be held Saturday,Aug 20,at 9 a.m. Service of Requiem Mass will follow at 9:30 a.m. from St. Edward R.C.Church,Fayette City,with the Rev. C.W. Ribick officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. George M. McCrory and Son,funeral directors.
