He engaged in the welding business in Belle Vernon from 1924 to 1934;lived in Monessen from 1948 to 1955 and subsequently made his residence in Brownsville. Surviving are his wife;Mrs.Mary Moyer Sprouse;a son Wayne of Brownsville;one daughter;Mrs.Grant (Evelyn) Brown of Brownsville;a brother;Charles Sprouse of Burbank;Calif.;two sisters;Mrs.Clive (Stella) Goodwin of Marathon;N.Y. and Mrs.Richard (Ann) Griffiths of Philadelphia;six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Friends will be received at the Ross Funeral Home;126 Front St.;Brownsville;Pa.;starting at 1 p.m.Thursday. Hours are from 1 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 1:30 p.m.from the Ross Funeral Home;with Rev.Frank James of the First Methodist Church of Brownsville;officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Edwin Melenyzer is the funeral director in charge.
