Nelson Simpson Sr.;74;of 934 Henry St.;Belle Vernon;died Tuesday;June 18;1957;at 4:40 a.m.in the Charleroi-Monessen Hospital;following a short illness. He was born in Fayette City and came to Belle Vernon as a child. He was employed in the rod mill of he Pittsburgh Steel Co.until his retirement. He is survived by seven sons;James of Pittsburgh;Lawrence;Louis and Dale;all of Monessen;Robert at home;Henry of Mt.Pleasant and Nelson Jr.of Los Angeles;four daughters;Mrs.Hazel Chilton of Belle Vernon;Mrs.Elma Frazier of Donora;Mrs.Ethel Chilton of Allenport and Mrs. Betty Dillard at home;two brothers;Fred Simpson of Washington;D.C.and Robert Simpson of Pittsburgh and two sisters;Mrs.Ethel Hartzell of Charleroi and Mrs.Bessie Swan of Lock Four. Sixteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive. Friends will be received at the late home beginning at 11 a.m.on Wednesday;June 19;1957. Funeral services will be held at the late home at 11 a.m.Friday;June 21;1957 with Rev.H.F.Coffey;of Charleroi and Rev.A.C.Morris of the Antioch Baptist Church officiating.
