Washington County Coroner "Jimmie" Grayon Friday,July 30,1954 awaited official papers on the death in Charleroi-Monessen Hospital of William F. Seaton, 65, 19 Chestnut street, Belle Vernon, who was fatally injured in Monessen mill of Pittsburgh Steel Co. Wednesday afternoon about 4 o'clock. Seaton died in the hospital at 5 p. m. of internal injuries reported to have been received when he was crushed between a moving truck and loading platform while enroute to the plant dispensary for treatment of a back complaint. Seaton is said to have walked between the truck and platform after stopping to talk with the driver, Cyril Treater, 916 McKean avenue, Charleroi. Treater started to drive away, the company report said, as Seaton walked beside the wall. Seaton was crushed as the truck passed. There was one witness. Seaton was a trucker in No. 2 rod mill. Due to the fact that the Seaton death occurred in this county, the Washington office will handle the probe. Deputy Coroner Francis Slezak of Charleroi, who took the local leport, following the death said the papers had just been mailed to Gray's office at Washington today. He indicated that since the accident occurred in Monessen, the inquiry would he earned forward there. Mr. Seaton is survived by his wife,Mrs. Sarah Seaton. According to Funeral Director Beverly C. Draper,friends will be received at the late home after 7 p.m. Thursday. Services will be held at the late home at 11 a.m. Saturday with Rev. L.W. Owens,of the Belle Vernon A.M.E.Church,in charge. Burial will be in Belle Venron Cemetery.
