Born in Meyersdale;the deceased came to Monessen in 1908 from Lonaconing;Md. He was retired at the age of 67 from the Pittsburgh Steel Co.Tube Mill. He was a member of the First Christian Church. Preceded in death by his wife;Mrs.Fannie A.Stevenson in August;1948;he is survved by a daughter;Mrs.Harry (Martha) Hornbecker of Sharon;three sons;George of Braddock;Richard;Jr.at home;and Jack;Monessen;seven grandchildren;seven great-grandchildren;and two sisters;Mrs.Chauncey (Elizabeth) Werner;of Gary;Ind.;and mrs.John (Martha) Ralston;of Pittsburgh;Cal. Friends will be received at the Rhome Funeral Home;McKee avenue;beginning at 7 p.m.;May 18. Funeral home visiting hours are from 1 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m. Funeral services will be held Thursday;May 20;at 2 p.m.from the funeral home;with Rev.Vernon Bowers;pastor of the First Christian Church officiating.
