Carl Syler;61;of 484 Clarendon avenue;Monessen;died Friday;July 24;1953;at 9 p.m.at his home. He was born in Winchester;Tenn.on May 29;1892. He was a veteran of World War I;having served in the U.S.Army. Surviving are his wife;Mrs.Avis Syler;at home;one daughter;Mrs.Audrey Jackson;484 Clarendon avenue;three brothers;Julian of Pittsburgh;Rev.Sterling Syler of Winchester;Tenn.;and Rev.Arthur Syler of Chattoonoga;Tenn.;and one sister;Mrs.Odell Sisney;Nashville;Tenn. Three grandchildren also survive. Friends are being received at the Duboise Carter Funeral Home;Monessen. Rev.W.E.McClelland will pronounce a eulogy tomorrow. Funeral services will be at one o’clock from the Union Baptist Church. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Duboise H.Carter;funeral director.
