Edwin J. Rainey; 64; of Denbo; died suddenly at 9 a.m. Thursday;Sept.8;1977 in Brownsville General Hospital. He was born in Wilmerding on July 31; 1913; son of the late George and Mary Ann Hardy
Rainey. He resided in Denbo the past 30 years; having formerly lived in the BelleVernon area. Mr. Rainey retired in 1975 as a mine operator for Gateway Mines in Greene County. Surviving are his widow; Dorothy Sethman Rainey; one son; Ronald Rainey of Millsboro; two daughters;Mrs. LeRoy (Henrietta) Bair of Parma; Ohio and Mrs.Michael (Darlene) Skobel of Belle Vernon; a niece whomthey raised. Mrs. Dorothy
Vance of Perryopolis; three brothers; John Rainey of Deep Creek; Md.; Joseph Rainey of Fayetle City and Robert Rainey of Nashville; Tenn.;three sisters; Mrs. Harry (Mary); Sethman Jr. of Belle Vernon; Mrs. Charles (Joy) Wagner of Fayette City and Mrs. Andrew (Isabelle) Hotochm of Monessen; and four grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Shleby D.Ferguson Funeral home;Belle Vernon;from 7 to 9 p.m.Saturday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.Sunday. Services will be held Monday at 1 p.m.at the funeral home with the Rev.Charles K.Sowden of the First United Methodist Church;Fredericktown;officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
